 Within the Aged and Disability department AccessCare, the Community Support team assists people to remain living in their own homes and stay connected to their community with transport to essential services and social activities. The Community Access Coordinator oversees the Community Bus and Social Engagement services to support the health and wellbeing of residents.

The role

We are seeking a Community Access Coordinator to join the Community Bus and Social Engagement team based at the Garden Boulevard depot in Dingley Village. Reporting to the Team Leader – Community Support, your role is to:

  • Oversee daily operations, meeting all compliance requirements, including any regulations due to COVID-19 protocols. 
  • Lead a team of permanent and casual drivers, client support officers and a dedicated social engagement support worker.
  • Plan and monitor rosters to support all scheduled bus activity, respond to new clients and transport requests promptly. 
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders external to AccessCare, to support social engagement of clients in a range of activities within the City of Kingston.

About you

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in the Social Development/Community Health sector.
  • Heavy Duty Licence and Driver’s Certificate/knowledge of requirements for these licences (advantageous)
  • Car licence (required)
  • Experience with managing staff.
  • Prepared and able to complete occasional driving duties in a 10-seat vehicle (Desirable).
